meeting of the Jefferson Area Neighborhood Association
September 16, 2008 at Bethany Homes at 6:00 pm
- Meeting called to order at 6:05 pm
- Attendance: Dawn Morgan, Russell Ford-Dunker, Mark Johnson, Kimberlee
Schneider, Jay Nelson
- Meeting Minutes: Approved
- Park Update: Mark reported
that the slab has been poured for benches and some bed work has been
completed.
- Planting Day: Planting day is set for Saturday,
September 27 at 10:00 am.
- Mark will be emailing Dawn Mayo questions regarding availability
of tools and having S&S there to help supervise the planting.
- Dawn will contact the local Lutheran Church regarding getting
a possible youth group to volunteer their time.
- Jay will contact Charism to see if they have any volunteers available.
- Russell will contact Northstar Coffee about donating coffee.
- Contact needs to be made to Sunmart about donating doughnuts
and juice.
- Dawn will bring a table to set food up on.
- Please let group know of any contacts you make so we are all
aware of number of volunteers we can plan on having.
- Website: Dawn spoke with the webmaster about
updating the website. When completing minutes, we need to submit
within a week of the meeting so it does get updated on the website. Otherwise,
the minutes remain until a new one is submitted and the group looks
less active.
- Annual Meeting: November 18 at 6:00 pm at
Bethany Homes will be the Annual Meeting.
- Bids for Office will be held at this time.
- Mark will create a PDF file postcard that will be sent out to
each member. The postcard will include information of the
planting day and of the upcoming annual meeting. Please print
these off and distribute to homes in your area.
- A press release will also be submitted.
- Review of By-laws: Saturday, November 15
at 10:30 am at the Spirit Room Office, the by-laws will be reviewed
by Dawn, Russell and Jay.
- The Mission Statement will also be discussed at this time. Please
share ideas and then a proposed statement can be compiled. The
Mission Statement will then be presented at the Annual Meeting.
- Business Contact: Contacting area business will
be discussed in January.
- University Preservation Project: This project
will begin to be discussed in January or February.
- Meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm
- Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 pm
at Bethany Homes. **Dawn will be out of the Country
