Jefferson Area Neighborhood Association (JANA)
Fargo, North Dakota
HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARDS

The Jefferson Area Neighborhood Association annually awards homeowners for historic preservation of their properties. May is Historic Preservation Month and past themes include: This Place Matters, and Discover America's Hidden Gems. Visit the National Trust for Historic Preservation for more info: www.preservationnation.org

The neighborhood association is concerned with preservation of quality of life in the neighborhood and encourages investment in residences and appropriate renovation or restoration of historic properties. Historic properties are designated as any property 50 years or older. That takes us back to the early 1960s and beyond.

Consideration is given to appropriate selection of materials and styles pertaining to the look of the property as it would have appeared at time of construction. Sensitive consideration of roof lines, door widths and window styles also apply to additions and garages.

Award winners will receive a preservation-related gift. Business partners of the Neighborhood Association include: Peterson Paint Supply, Simonson Lumber and Scheel's Home and Hardware.
